It’s the 1920s, also known as the “Roaring Twenties.”  Along with jazz music, flappers, and economic prosperity, Americans are taking to the road as easier access to auto ownership allows everyday Americans to enjoy family vacations.  The Yellowstone Trail was a very popular route on the Great American Road Trip; this “good road” from Plymouth, MA to Seattle, WA brought record numbers of tourists traveling west.

 A new Ford 5 passenger touring car could be bought for $393 and gas was .25 per gallon. The price of the auto was similar to that of a horse and buggy – but the auto only needed to be “fed” when it was in use!
